1. J.R.R. Tolkien

Who doesn’t like the “Lord of the Rings”, or the slightly less cumbersome “The Hobbit”. Both extrodinary works that altered or rather created a new genre for all sci-fi novels.
Tolkien went above and beyond creating a new world with various cultures, languages, races, alphabets, songs/poetry, and incredibly… histories for each. The appendices and other works added to the mythology he wanted to create.
I have read his books many times and still get amazed at his story telling. I am currently reading “The Hobbit” (again) preparing for Peter Jackson’s movie coming out in December. If this movie is cared for as much as Peter Jackson did for The Lord of the Rings we are all in for a treat…
I like the fact of his collaboration with C.S. Lewis and their similaraties with out being clones. Also, the little group they had “the Inklings”....
