Mr. K and I visited Hoover Dam on our April trip to Las Vegas. It is am amazing piece of engineering. Especially when you consider that it was buit in the 1930’s without the equipment we are accustomed to having today.

We visited it on a Monday, and we were really surprised by the huge amount of tourists there. So we didn’t get to take the tour through the dam. I’d have to say the guidebooks are correct: if you want to take the tour of the dam, you should probably plan your visit for January or February.
