Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Spyrunner 43T is going....

post random questions daily and see if anyone plays with me and answers them :) (read all 70 entries…)
Another question....

Have you ever made love on a boat? Was it on a cruise? Would you do it again?

Spyrunner 43T is going....

I remember the song

Oh they built the ship Titanic to sail the ocean blue,
And the Captain swore that the water’d ne’er come through
But the kitty and emu said the ship would never land
It was sad when the great ship went down

Oh it was sad – so sad
It was sad – too bad
It was sad when the great ship went down without a cat
To the bottom of the husbands and wives little children lost their lives
It was sad when the great ship went down without an emu
Down to the bottom of the sea
Blub blub blub blub

It was off the coast of England
Not very far from shore
When the animals refused
To associate with the humans
So they sent them down below
Where the people were first to go
It was sad when the great ship went down

The captain stood on deck
With a tear in his eye
As he waved the emu
and the kitty good-bye
But he thought he made a slip
So he went down with the ship
It was sad when the great ship went down

Spyrunner 43T is going....

I hope

this question adds one thing to your bucket list.

nicolasc has left the building. 43T and the friends I made will always be special to me.

And nope, it was a sailboat. As far as doing it again…maybe, but I am more prone to seasickness now, so that might put a damper on things…

never even thought about it. But I live on the ocean. Hmm….

gottawonder Loves her tortoise!

That's odd,

I don’t think I have.

Yet, that seems like just the sort of thing I’d do. It’s possible that my husband and I tried having sex in the canoe…

Well, now I’ve got something to think about.

DocD Ahh, calm has returned.

Yes, I have

I was sailing across the South China Sea with my girlfriend, from Singapore to Sarawak on Borneo. It was an unforgettable moment, and I would definitely do it again.

Both in a rubber raft on a lake at night, although there were no sinking ships involved, and, later, on a cruise.

Ooooo, on a rubber raft. MUST try that someday!

It makes a lot of noise.

The rubber squeaks everytime you move.

Spyrunner 43T is going....

Not unless

you put a boat on the waterbed first.
