Talking with like-minded people

Last night I went to a Buddhist Centre, here in Helsinki, for a meditation evening. In the discussion with an interesting young Finnish man whose name I forget, I dreamt up the idea that it would be good to focus less on the times when my mind wanders during meditation and more on the times when I am present.

Rather like this exercise of focusing on the positive things that happen, it would be interesting to pay attention to the times when I am…er…paying attention.

That way, I’ll feel much more encouraged in my sitting practice.
