Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
This was one of those books that alluded me growing up and I finished it last week. I quite enjoyed and I’m looking forward to seeing how the movie (I believe it’s an old one) interpreted it. It was so fast paced in some places and really kept me engaged. Montag’s thoughts on where he started mentally and where he ended was quite a shift in thinking and it really says something about the times. It was written in the 1950’s and it reflects a government/society that was…and maybe still is.
Let’s Pretend This Never Happenend (A Mostly True Memoir) by Jenny Lawson
Thebloggess.com has written a book about her life so far and it’s hilarious. She tells us about growing up in Wall, Texas (yeah, I don’t where that is either) and how strange growing up can be with a taxidermist dad. She has some ridiculous moments and some true life sad ones that make us see that maybe we aren’t so different. But then again, sticking your hand up a cow’s vagina IS pretty different.
