Faustus movin' right along...

schedule some unscheduled time
It is

what it says… I think I need some time to relax, if it means doing nothing… or anything. I’m not sure when exactly it started, but I kept cramming more and more into my schedule… ~70-80 hours a week in the lab, early morning before-work runs, playing soccer in a (recreational) league, volunteering, additional pick-up soccer games, long runs with the group, going to shows, regular dinner with friends, leisure reading, and even marathons of old tv series…. Not that I don’t enjoy it, on the contrary, I’m kind of proud that I could work it out, but it means that I have to run from one thing to another to stay on track, and well, sometimes I feel tired. Also it means that when something unexpected happens, I barely have any wiggle time.

I may open up some time, maybe Saturday mornings, to take care of random stuff or just goof around without the pressure of having to do something.

Adar Gone fishin'.

Great plan!

I find that having some regular unscheduled time in my week (even if I have to schedule it) gives my brain a significant boost. We all need a little “fallow time.”

just a few moments in stillness

Even if I spend just a few minutes outdoors in the morning being still, watching the bushtits, chickadees (and occasional woodpecker) at the bird-feeder in our yard, somehow all feels right with the world :)
