fix my scooter (read all 4 entries…)
A pic is worth 10,000 words 3 years ago

(I’d just need a paycheck: missing1^ piece under the front light, 60€ - plastic, mind you - new cover for the handlebar, 140€—guess what? yep, PLASTIC!)

1^ In Italian scooteristic jargon missing can be easily replaced by stolen.

sweet ride!

What type of scooter is that, Paolo? I ask because I like the full-sized wheels—which my ‘83 Honda Passport also has. I’ve been looking for a modern scooter with full-sized wheels but they all seem to have small wheels like the Vespa and modern Hondas.

The big wheels offer a better ride in my limited experience.

Aprilia Scarabeo 100cc

Yes, you’re right, large wheel scooters offer a much better ride (above all when you’re dealing with quaint cobblestones, duh!).
Actually in Italy there are almost only big wheels. The best ones for me, so far, are Honda SH and Aprilia Scarabeo (from 50cc up). I love my 100cc in particular because it’s very fast, even if it’s superlight. Cons: not very strong suspensions (again: thanks quaint cobblestones, duh!) and brakes are a bit weak too. But after 3 years of very heavy usage I’m not complaining much…

pssst: PaolA, please… I’m not being anal retentive on spelling, I promise, it’s just a matter of opposite gender… ;)

PaolA ... doh!

I’m such an IDIOT.

I’m digging the larger wheels on the Honda Passport, even if it is close to 25 years old. It handles more like a regular bicycle. Rock on.
