compliments

Many compliments at work about my English and my accent : “are you from the US ?” (countless times), “I can’t get over the fact that you’re French”, “that’s the best accent I’ve heard, it’s flawless” etc, and the funniest and most wtf : “you sound like Elvis”.

Random compliments about what I wear too, the funniest being this weird rich Russian guy frantically waving his fists in the air because he was hoping my pendant was for sale as a souvenir. Some kids who said “awesome” a lot made me smile on a busy day too by saying to my face “this guy’s so helpful, he’s awesome plus he gets to work here, how awesome is that ? Did you see all the rings he’s wearing, he’s like the most awesome guy ever”.

The gorgeous miss S told me she was glad I was the one to relieve her in helping out the new employee because she thinks I’m serious (which came as a shock to me as she usually seems to regard me as some sort of unworthy parasite. I did unexpectedly impress her the other day with my multitasking as I was single-handedly explaining stuff to said employee, casually giving other coworkers computer passwords I remembered by heart whilst assisting a visitor who broke her arm).

I told another coworker how I was originally looking for a completely different job than the one I ended up with this year and that me working in sales is kind of absurd and she said she thinks I’m great at it.

Not exactly a compliment but the other S laughed a lot because I lost my balance on the train and fell on a couple of people and apparently she’s not over it yet (keeps laughing like a madwoman several days after).
