“The emotional parts of the brain have strong links with the parts of the brain that store memories. Events that trigger powerful emotions such as fear or joy form especially vivid, photographic memories. That’s why you can probably remember far more details about your last birthday then you can about the day afterward.”
Some years for me seem to pass very fast. Others seem to pack 3 years’ worth in a single year. This year was one of the latter categories. A relationship of several years ended, I had two other short lived ones, I moved, my mother died, her house sold, I wrote a new novel, I went to Canada, I went to Hawaii, I went to Malaysia, I sold my timeshare, I lost a phone that had a bunch of family pictures in it, I started exercisingmore than I’ve ever done before in my life, and I am publishing my first book. Note to self: to extend my life even further, I should have more years like this one. :-)
