I trimmed my hair yesterday. The last time I had trimmed it was over 4 months ago and the ends were getting tangled, so it was needed.
Keeping record of my trims so I know when I should have my next one!

If so, have you any tips? :) mine is really annoying me atm haha, it looks pretty scraggly that I’m considering going short! However, I will wait till I’ve had the dead ends off to see how it looks. There is a hairdresser whom I ‘trust’ to cut my hair but she is quite expensive, plus I’m not a fan of going the hairdressers in general…always find it awkward, damn social anxiety!
Yes, I do trim myself because, like you said, I feel awkward going to a hairdresser, not to mention it puts a hole in my wallet haha.
Anyway, the reason I trim myself is because I don’t mind if it’s not perfectly even since I have curly hair and so it’s not noticeable.
When I trimmed it, I first combed my hair and saw at what point it got extremely tangled (indicating when it starts to become too dry and causes breakage) and cut it from there.
I would recommend having a spray bottle with water to spray your hair because it’s much easier and more accurate to cut your hair when it’s wet.
Also, I cut my hair in 3 layers. I first cut the layer of hair really low on my head (while tying up the rest). Then I tied that part back and combed out another layer and cut that. And finally, I tied those two layers back and let down and cut the top layer (pretty much the hair at the top of my head, near where I part it). I usually cut this a little shorter than the rest because it’s the area that’s damaged the most and causes the most breakage.
And finally, I would recommend you have two mirrors so you can see the back of your head, because trimming the back can get difficult haha.
Hmm, that’s about it. I think the main thing is not to worry if it’s not completely even because if you keep cutting it trying to get it even, you’ll wind up cutting off a lot more than you wanted (I speak from experience haha).
Hope this helps! :D
