Off to join the local gym on payday (Tuesday). I’m going to a cheaper, slightly nearer one that I avoided originally, but since it IS cheaper, it IS nearer and I can get access into the clubs right across the company (brilliant since there’s two opening soon right by my places of work so I can go when I’m not at home!), it’s a bit of a no-brainer.
Need to buy some tracky pants and a sports bra so I’ll get on that after work tomorrow. Already got my trainers (wooo, Shapers!) and I’ve stocked up on meal replacement shakes for the next week or so.
My goal dress size, overall, is a UK10. I’m back hovering between a 16 and an 18, I’d say, so I’ve got a long way to go. Working to Australian sizes makes it a bit more confusing (I still have NO CLUE what size I actually am over here – it’s different in every store!), so I do have a number of kilos in mind and I think that means I’m aiming for an Aussie 12 but either way, I brought some smaller UK clothes over with me to use.
I think the thing is that people do put a lot of emphasis onto the numbers, the actual weight you are and so forth, but I think you have to be happy and comfortable first and then you can work on the rest of it. So if I can get to a UK 10/12, then I’ll be happy to jump on the scales and work out how my BMI is looking. Any weight loss, in my case, is good weight loss, as it’s bringing me closer to that safe zone, but for now I’m going to try not to think about it.
I’ll weigh myself once a week, just so I know things are shifting, even if my clothes aren’t!
