LAX to O'Hare

LAX to O’Hare (by The Academy Is…)

Actually, I’m taking off from Long Beach, but DETAILS.

I’ll be spending the next week in Chicago with a friend of mine who moved out there seven years ago for her husband’s grad program. (They live about an hour outside the city.) This is the first time I’ve been to see them, and while I feel a little crappy about that, truthfully this is the first summer since they moved that I’ve had money saved up, and a steady job to come back to here in SoCal.

In addition to Chicago, apparently we are taking a day trip to Wisconsin as well. Beer and cheese – how can I go wrong?

So, 43T friends, any suggestions for things I MUST see in Chicago? I’ve been told about the Skydeck/Sears Tower, the Bean/Millenium Park, Navy Pier, Wrigley Park, and a number of food places…what am I missing? I’ll be there for a week, I got time for stuff!

The Field Musuem

which is right across from the Shedd Aquarium. Both are awesome. It’s been over 10 years since I’ve been there, but there’s a street market area too which has wonderful artsy stuff.

I highly recommend

-The Architecture boat tour on the river
-Xoco and/or Fronterra Grill (both restaurants run by Rick Bayless and on the same block -Xoco is more street-food like)
-All the museums are fantastic. The Shedd has an oceanarium too with dolphins, beluga whales and sea otters (making it more than just an “aquarium”.)

If you're not singing the blues...

then you’re not in Chicago.

I'll agree with OtterGirl

about the Field Museum. I also really like the Museum of Science & Industry.

Have a great trip, Simplicity! :)

You should...
