Epic Sunshine SPRING!
installed and saw things after dark, by the light.
Ceiling lights are great if they are flush mounted. The sideways and downward light means ever uneven place is cast in shadow of some sort.
I wasn’t done at all, and went back to fill, plaster, smooth all that I had missed. This morning I sanded and painted, again. It is much much better. I’m still not happy, but good enough for now. The hallway is done.
Installed the kitchen cabinet doors below the sink too. I’d been waiting cause I had to kinda make them first, duh. Next is filling the nail holes on the whole piece and giving it a final paint job.
Kitchens always call for more. But I’m stopping after I finally anchor the stove which I just haven’t gotten around to doing. And getting some cafe curtains or something for the big window. My partner’s wisdom will be sought this week.
Kitchen to-do, for later:
build big pantry
trim out chair rail, crown molding (mission style!) and window (mission arch!)
resurrect door to basement from basement, refinish, and trim to meet new floor level.
get new back door? something secure and energy efficient? Nah, paint the old one.
tear out drop ceiling, repair or replace historic as needed.
