Week 5/Day 1

It’s a miracle, peeps! Oh, my peeps, guess what? I had a great running day! I was supposed to do three five minute intervals, with breaks to walk in between. Due to a mathematical error, my second interval was only 4 minutes. So I decided that, if I felt up to it, I would run 6 minutes on the last interval to make up for it, but gave myself permission to only run the 5 if I didn’t feel like adding time.

I. Ran. More. Than. Ten. Minutes. Straight. YAY! That might seem like nothing to some people, but it is great for me. GREAT, I say! I even felt like I could run more, but didn’t want to push it since I’m still a beginner.

What I learned today:

• An iPod with music helps. It both relaxes you and energizes you at the same time. Thank you, Stevie baby. Thank you, Aretha honey. You pushed me to keep going!

• Be selective about who you share your victories with. Some people are encouraging, and other people are defeating.

Comments:

You give me hope!

I haven’t started training, but watching your progress makes me feel like it’s possible. Well done!

Thank you!

It’s not much compared to someone who has been running, but I have to remind myself how hard Week 1 (1 minute intervals) and Week 2 (90 second intervals) were when I started. Today I ran more than ten times that amount, and it’s only 4 weeks later! I am feeling really good, and I’m trying to remember what tamaribu posted, that there will be good days and bad days. Today is a good day, and I’m going to try to use that to keep me motivated.

Thanks, imgladimme!

"other people are defeating."

boy aint that the truth…most times it seems to me they(you know them…those people) are just oblivious to how they affect other people.

Yeah, like I said...

more than ten minutes without stopping us a big deal to me, but to people who run for an hour or two that’s peanuts. They just should realize that they don’t need to tell me it’s peanuts!

So…lesson learned. Selective sharing!

its not peanuts!

Its freakin awesome! Its a big deal to you which means its a big deal to people who care about you.. the end :)

SQUEEEEE!

You say all the right things! X-D
