Pancemaster learning about SMART goal setting :D
So I got an app for my phone to track my weight. According to the BMI index I’m one mile run away from a heart attack. Pfft.
And I should be roughly… 50lbs lighter than I am currently.
That’s… quite a number. And I thought about a scary observation the other day. I was about 180lbs in the 5th grade. By high school I stayed at 210-215, then by college I was 230.
Just kind of puts things into perspective for me.
I don’t know if being at 180 or so would be healthy for me though. I want to be healthy, I don’t want to be able to see my hip bones or ribs! My family carries weight pretty evenly. And if someone’s TOO skinny, they look, just, unhealthy.
So, maybe I won’t shoot for 180. I’m thinking more around 230 right now. That’s a more realistic goal. And when I get there, I’ll re-align my goals so I don’t make them impossible.
And I don’t really take the BMI seriously. I don’t measure my health by my ratio of mass to my height because I’m more than just a number.
Eh. But hopefully the app reminds me to stay true.
