I’m the prime example of a no-way-a-public speaker =P I get all nervous and forget what I’m supposed to say. Completely blank. And I get red and more aware of that than my notes.

That's what they say
I guess the only way to go about this is to practice a lot and get used to it.. it even helps if the first few practices were done in front of a supportive crowd who at least pretend we’re doing a good job. The more we feel improved on public speaking, the more confident we are when it comes to the ‘real’ thing later on.. damn.. it sucks to be too self-conscious.. but we all need to work for it..
I get a bit nervous speaking in front of a crowd if someone close to me (like a friend or family) is also one of the crowd. Because I know that even if the others won’t notice or care about my nervousness… my friend/family will certainly do!
