not easy
this loneliness makes me want to run to a drink, helps me forget. But I know it is better to just go through it.

In the past,
when loneliness has made me want to escape through drugs or alcohol, I used that as a signal to go to a meeting. Are you using 12 step meetings to help you with this? They can be a really good way to meet like-minded friends, and just sitting in a room listening to others can ease loneliness.

I havee contemplated this
over and over, I have been to an Al-Anon meeting, as my dad was an alcoholic. I have read about 12 step programs for family members as well. but I think, that only recently that i starting to believe that I have a problem too. My only issue is that I worry that I won’t have the time to go to the meeting with work and school. That it will just be another added pressure.
But I will never know unless I try. I have the number for the local AA organization so obviously it has crossed my mind before. I will think about it. Thank you for caring enough to suggest it.
