I saw the total eclipse that was around here in 1979. It was unbelievable.

We had one here in Cornwall in 1999 and it was awe-inspiring. As totality approached, all the birds returned to their nests and, as it passed, the shadow of the moon made it seem as if the sun was rising in the west! The most memorable thing was the silence, as darkness drew near.

If you get a chance, definitely chase it down.
