attend my 20 year West High School reunion in Anchorage, Alaska (read all 2 entries…)
Untitled

Wow! What a great website. It certainly won’t feel like it’s been 20 years since we’ve all been together after learning about everyone’s adventures here.

We all sound like so many of you. My husband, K.C. and I have been married almost 13 years. We have 3 kids; Jason (7), Ryan (22 months) and Megan (3 months). They are a blast and keep us laughing all the time. I was a computer programmer for a few years after college and then I became a first grade teacher. I taught for several years, until Jason was born, and then I became a stay-at-home mom. We live in Concord, California about 40 minutes out of San Francisco.

We go back to Alaska at least once a year to see my family and go fishing. There’s no place like Alaska, is there?! I am looking forward to seeing everyone again at the reunion and hearing about how all the plane rides were with the little ones! I have traveled quite a bit with my 2 boys but this will be my first trip on an airplane with all three of them. Should be interesting

Great to hear from you, Jenny. And what a good looking family! I especially like that little Megan in her red suit … too cute. See you guys in August.

Thanks, Dan. What’s all this I hear about you being a rock star? What is the name of your band and where do you play? My little brother goes to college in Tacoma at PLU. I’ll have to tell him to go watch you in action sometime. Do you ever play in the San Francisco area?

Hey, Jenny. I’ve been playing in bands since I left Anchorage, most recently in a band called Maktub. I spent a good amount of time touring the last couple years - the U.S. - and I’ve played San Fran countless times along with both coasts (and everything in between). At any rate, not a rockstar but an active musician for sure.

Maktub is currently on hiatus so no shows in the near future. For the first time in many years I’m staying put in Seattle for a while and that leaves plenty of time to hit the reunion. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone!

Wait a minute!

Jenny-
Your little brother isnt OLD ENOUGH to be in college?!! is he????
Es

Can you believe that?

Es,
My little brother, David, is actually 21 years old now and a Junior in college!! How time flies! He is a terrific uncle and now has 2 nephews and 4 nieces. Don’t you remember when he was still in diapers?!
Jenny

No...

I remember where we were when you told me that your folks were expecting In the hallway going to math…Holy Smoke!!
He was our “practice baby!” ans now he’s 21-YIKES we are old! I got out my yearbook and read what you wrote before I left for Garrison-it made me sad and it made me miss you and all the years that have gone by…we need to change that!

So glad you added photos

Hey Jenny Christal! Cute kids!! You sound anchored and happy and friendly as ever. I love that.

So, been remembering a bunch of stuff about people reading their entries. One thing – you were great to me when I first arrived at West. I’m sure you don’t remember, but firsts always stick in people’s minds, and you invited me go with you and some others to a hockey game. I couldn’t go but it was the first social overture from anyone when I first came, and I was SO RELIEVED (at 15 constantly battling the suspicion that I had two heads or something & everyone was in on it except me). Then the next person who was cool to me was Missy (last name?) who lived in my neighborhood, Huntington Park, and was the Beatles’ greatest fan ever, and not long after that, I bumped into Erin and Lana with their freshly permed hair and Bishop’s Attic outfits in the lunch line, and you know the rest…

What ever happened to that hockey boyfriend of yours, anyway? Are you in touch with Sherry? We’ve kept in contact – she’s got two little tots, boys, which I suspect is what keeps her from joining this 43things party.

Anyway, all the best to you… oh, and never, never underestimate the power and depth of Esther Goldberg’s memory. I’m counting on her to remember pretty much everything we ever did together.

Tina! So great to hear from you. Your little girls are adorable! You’ll have to let me know what to expect in the way of little girls. Megan is only 4 months old and already people are warning me about all the girl stuff. I’m so used to boys and dirt and noise and all that stuff. They’re all pretty fun, though, aren’t they?

I’m so glad you have a good memory of me. I always thought you were so funny and always up for a good time. I’m sure Esther will be able to remind us of all those things we used to do…and probably some things we hoped she’d forgotten. (and I think we all thought we had 2 heads back then…)I’m happy to hear that you keep in touch with Sherry. I haven’t talked to her in years. I’ve tried to get a hold of her several times over that past few years but never was able to. I’d love her address and phone number.

Missy Broadhead is the girl you’re thinking of. She went to Turnagain Elementary School with me and she was always really nice. I wonder what she’s up to?!

Sounds like there are lots of West High grads in the Seattle area. I’d love to get up there sometime. My little brother goes to Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma and we’re hoping to go see him soon. He comes down here a lot but the 2 little ones have really slowed down my traveling over the last few years.

It’ll be fun to see you in August and meet your family. Take care,

Jenny

I'm here and I miss you!

Jenny,

It’s so great to see pictures of you and family. It appears you’ve made a wonderful life for yourself! I too have wanted to get in touch with you, but didn’t know where to start. I missed you at the 10 year reunion and can’t wait to see you at the 20 year. Due to the fact that this website is totally public I will refrain from giving my phone number and give my email address instead: srichmond2001@earthlink.net
Please write so we can talk!

Tine was right, it took me awhile to get into 43 things because of my boys. I wanted to have some photos lined up and ready to go. Everything personal in my life takes much longer to accomplish with my two babies. I’m sure you know! They are awesome and all consuming. I’m a stay-at-home mom also. My dreams came true.

see you soon,
Sherry

Miss you, too. Great photo!

Sherry,

I love the pictures you’ve posted everywhere. It’s so great to finally hear from you! What cute boys you have. Boys keep you busy, don’t they? I’m happy that your dreams came true. Looks like life is pretty good in Florida. We were just there last week visiting KC’s family. I love the beach, but I don’t do too well in the hot weather. I can’t wait to see you this summer. You are looking more like Laura in your pictures. How are your mom and Laura doing? Take care…

Jenny

very weird to hear me named as Esther Goldberg…must be used to the Harrison tag. Hmmm is that good? or bad!

I’m already working on the story-telling!
