Keep a journal
So I have a journal...

It is from the Martha Stewart Home Office collection for Avery. I has a really nice textured front cover and I really like the colour.

I’m not really a fan of Martha… or entertaining/homemaking so I ripped out her handy party planning hints and glued together the pages with her annoying forward, but that’s about as far as I’ve gotten.

I have a tendency to buy beautiful journals, write in them like twice, and then never again. I’m not sure how to really get started with this and keep at it. I used to journal obsessively when I was younger, (and kind of a lonely loner – as opposed to a super sexy awesome loner like I am now,) but I seem to have lost my knack for it.

I think I might use my goals as a kicking off point for the kinds of things I want to write down. Although I’m unsure whether I want to write down my negative feelings, I know that might help me work through them, but at the same time I don’t know how great it is for me to have them lying around in solid form.

It is entirely possible that I think too much.

Keeping a journal too!

Hey, just a thought that I’m doing for my journal, everytime I write something down thats negative, I follow it up with something I can do to make myself feel better about it, then I write something that makes me happy or I’m thankful for. I guess it just helps make sure my journal doesn’t look too depressing haha!
Thought it might help XD

That sounds like a really great way to keep things balanced! Thanks for sharing your method, I think I just might do something similar. (:

Twitch_Kitty loving my life right now, and the family/friends in it

you should sit down somewhere and just write. doesn’t matter about what just write. I’ve kept jornals since i was in grade school. when i don’t know what to put in them ill just write and all these events of the day or feeling just come out. don’t force it, its better to let it flow. good luck on this. :)

I think I really need to get over my need to perfect everything I write and edit my thoughts. Hoping this will help and that I get into the swing of things soon. Thank you for the luck!

I have the exact same problem, beautiful journals go to waste in my hands, and i don’t know what i feel about having the negative feelings written down either, seems like i’m asking for someone to find it and read it, wich is definitly not what i want, at all…

I think that it is important to get past the paranoia associated with someone finding and reading a journal. I’m getting around my tendency to write negative things by just writing them and then not re-reading them. I’ve decided it is therapeutic to put it down on paper and there’s no real reason to go over it again.

Journals full of depressing things are better than empty ones… right?

Rebecca has gotten 2 cheers on this entry.
