stop picking my skin (read all 2 entries…)
First Entry..

I’m actually starting to work on this goal now. Thankfully, I have this site for some extra motivation. Over the past few days, I’ve just been trying to take a step in the right direction and stop picking whenever I catch myself doing it.

Here’s my issue: it’s not really a conscious action.. I have really bad ADD, so I take medication for it because I have a lot of schoolwork that I’d never get done otherwise. Unfortunately, a side effect of this medicine is an increase in anxiety, which (according to my psychiatrist) can include/lead to skin-picking. My antidepressant dosage was upped to help combat that side effect, but I still find myself picking whenever I’m on my ADD meds.

Here’s the good part: I didn’t take my ADD meds over most of Christmas break, so I have a bit of a head-start. And I’m going to try to really act on it this time!

...except I’m supposed to take my ADD meds every day.
I’ve tried washing my face instead of picking, but that just leads to dry skin, so then I have to moisturize (for which I use sunblock, as I am quite pale), but then it gets on my clothes… eep.

Anyhow, good luck with this!

Oh, man. I know that feel, bro. I’m supposed to take my meds every day, but I don’t eat much when I’m on em.. (hence my other goal of gaining a little weight)
Yeah, my skin always ends up dry, too… Bothers me quite a bit.. :/ It’s either dry, or super oily. I have no happy medium.

Anywho, I wish you luck as well! Don’t get discouraged! We can BOTH do this!!! :D
