Not a good day

I was doing so well with my lists, but today I’ve been losing time like crazy. I can’t focus. I think it’s due to the fact that yesterday was a very busy day. It’s like I crash the next day after a day like that. But I don’t rest either, I just feel empty for not doing things I want to be doing.
I still have one half of the day though, so I decided to visit this website to remember how good it feels to achieve something.

nawatramani Looking forward to the weekend!

Guilt perhaps

A lot of people have a difficult time not doing anything especially when there is a lot to do. But taking a break after a hectic day is essential if you are going keep yourself motivated and continue to accomplish things without burning yourself out. But people feel guilty about not doing anythng or as much and it looks like that may be your issue.

You should try to overcome that and if it is impossible to take a break completely then maybe schedule one or two activities for such days, activities that you enjoy and/or like.

Hope this helps!

To learn when to work and when to rest

Thanks for your advice! You may be right, you know? Take right now for instance. I just got back from a six-hour class. I’m feeling tired and hot and grumpy. I just want to take a shower, eat something and read. But I also feel the need to make up for yesterday and do some of the tasks I still have pending, and I can feel the anxiety building. But as I am tired, I’ll end up not doing much and not resting either. So you definitely have a point.
I know I have a problem knowing when to work and when to rest. When I have to work, I procrastinate, which makes me feel really guilty, and to compensate, I then try to work late at night, while I have dinner and just before bed, which then makes me go to bed too late, anxious and with a stomach ache.
I just want to break that vicious circle.

Sounds to me like you enjoy a bipolar high. I know from experience, when my bipolar symptoms are running high I get all kinds of things done, but it may be at a price. Now I set specific goals for a day and stop after they are met. It helps me manage all aspects of my life and keeps me more so on the “HIGH” side of life with something to “do” everyday.
