Haarlem is quite close to Amsterdam – so it might be a trip away.
We stayed there during our Netherlands vacation and loved it. They also have a nice jazz festival!

We have no plans

except for Belgium and England/Scotland next July (my fella lived in England and wants to revisit).

We’ve pulled out the world map and are trying to figure it out (I’ve never been to Europe). Our time is limited though to 3 weeks.

What time of year is the jazz festival?
