run a half marathon

I joined a gym yesterday and should be able to start making solid progress on this goal.

I did a 5 mile run (new personal distance record) at a pace of 9:30 per mile. Next goal is to run 6 miles paced at about 8:30 per mile. I scheduled myself for the Scotland Run, a local 10K-race, that looks like a lot of fun. I now have a month to prepare for my first 10K!

My goal for a couple of years has been to run a half marathon in Germany. This weekend I decided to do just that even though I haven’t been training-I have run a couple of 2 mile runs over the last three months. I signed up-did it-not with style and grace-but I finished!!!! What a complete high. I will do it again- but I will train and I will eat properly the morning of the race. Go for it—if I can do it, so can you.
