Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Make Your Garage Into Your Own Personal Lifestyle Center
Transform Your Garage Into Something Useful

The main reason that a residence will have a garage is almost always to keep your car parked and secure at night but there has been a growing trend over recent years to use garage space for other reasons. The first step of this was probably when people started to see the garage as somewhere to store items to create space within the home. It can be good as long as one is able to keep the area neat and dump things you don’t need. However, these day there are far more ambitious projects that people undertake and in this article we will look at some the ways you could convert your garage.

There’s been a huge shift in working routines with all the new technology now available and this has led to more people working from home. There are also many people who have got their own home business and need a place to do their work. You most likely would like a separate room to do your work so if you are short on space in the house then you could consider using your garage as office space. By making use of the garage, your business location will likely be separate from the personal space while still being at home thus allowing you to focus on your work with no distractions.

You are going to also discover those who would like a workshop to do DIY projects or because of the type of business they have. One would be allowed to put together wall mounted shelves and cabinets in the garage to hold tools and accessories. You will additionally need to think about how the power tools and workbenches can be setup. As soon as your transformation is complete, your garage will become a nice little workshop to work on your projects.

If you would rather not visit a fitness center or it is too inopportune to go, then you have the option of setting up a gym in your garage. You are going to find that there are a wide variety of fitness machines available and they tend to take up a lot of space at home. Determined by just how complex you want your home gym to be, you can set up the garage to have your exercise equipment. Much like working at home, it is wise course of action to have a separate area when you exercise so that you can focus on your training.

I have listed a few of the common things people have been doing to their garage. With any kind of project you do at your home, you have to make sure that you meet regulations and hire certified contractors. It’s not just for any constructing work but for any electrical or home heating requirements you may have. Even so, once you have done all of your planning your garage can be transformed to suit your lifestyle.
