i didn’t expect a search for ‘Genji’ to bring this up.
I’ve donwnloaded the first 17 chapters of it, but will have to buy the actual book now that i’m getting to the end.
I’d love to be able to read it in the original language (another one of my goals is to learn Japanese).

Hello!
It sounds like you’ve got further than me. It’s quite a while since I’ve picked it up, other books have been taking precedence.
I want to read the Tale of Murasaki too. That’d probably be a much easier read, but I’d like to get Genji one first.
Before I started reading it, I thought I’d like to read it in Japanese too, but I’m finding it slow enough going in English, so I don’t think so, even if my Japanese was good enough. However, a Japanese friend of mine said they read it as manga in school, so perhaps I can look out for that in a few years, if my Japanese improves enough.
