Choices or Predestiny?  — 2 years ago

got to thinking today about something today that disturbs me.
think about this one and respond with your comments please
forgive the spelling
nostridomous predicted things hundreds of years in the future of this i think we can all agree. Now that would mean that these things were destined to happen no matter what cause he predidted and they came to pass. so my question is that is the future already written and we are suposed to do the things we do on a daily basis cause we are suposed to by some sort of design? this would mean that everything we do we have to do cause it is already layed out for us. so that would mean that the murderer is destined to kill adn the hero is suposed to save and some people are suposed to get married to eachother and others devorced. and so on and so forthand no ones lives are in their own hands and choices are not choices at all but the illusion of choices. this line of thinking truely disturbs me.

I think, we have a destiny, but we also have choices. I think that we are destined to end up a certain way, but the path we take, is our choice. Some might say I was destined to have a family young and raise my boys the way I am. But my choices and others’ choices (you know who I mean) contributed to the way that took shape. I don’t believe I was destined to be a single mom. I believe the choices we all made, (MYSELF INCLUDED) contributed to my family being…reshaped. I think that…had that event not taken place, I would not have had the opportunities that I have now. In every aspect of my life. I would not know how strong I truly am and I would not have the life I now have. Maybe I was destined to live as I now do, but I don’t think so. I would hate to think that it’s my destiny to be alone. To be lonely…to struggle. Was it destiny, predetermination, that made my parents as they are? Made Matt as he is? I don’t know. But I think we have choices and they shape the way our future takes place.
