Every month that goes by, I’m learning a little bit more than I knew before. It’s challenging to solve specific web page problems and work-arounds to get a page to look just how you want it. But that’s the fun part. :)

my colors tend to evolve over time

Of course, it’s harder if you’re doing a project for someone else because you have a deadline. But if you’re just working on your own site, don’t sweat it… accept that your tastes are going to change over time, and that your site is never really “finished.”

I’ve found that some of those online color pickers and palettes are really very useful at times. Also, if you’re using Firefox, you can get an extension called Color Picker to help you pick up colors from anywhere on the web. Some of the strangest places I go for colors are to Amazon.com… the book covers. :)

both

It depends on my mood more than anything else. Sometimes I have a very specific plan, all drawn out on paper with boxes representing the different parts of the page. Other times I might find a really nice color online and start playing with that and adding colors that I think look pretty good with it.

Currently I’m working on this and that design has only been there a couple of days. I’m just playing around with it and plugging in colors to see how it looks. :)
