They tell me that with my personality, I wouldn’t be forgotten, but a person worries about that. It would be sad to live your life so that no one knows you were there.

I’m a bit fuzzy on this goal. Be remembered is all well and good, but for how long? Until all your friends are dead of old age or otherwise? Until humanity disappears? Until the last sun dies out?

I’ve never worried about this. The significance of a single human life compared to the scale of the universe is exactly zero. That’s not sad, its just how it is. The universe is a big place that has been and will be here for a long time vs a small ape-descendant with a short lifespan. No contest.

I guess for me this goal means that I want to do things in this life that matter, that make a footprint. I want to make life better for others as well as for myself and to be remembered for good things and not mistakes I might have made through my life’s journey.
