pursue happiness (read all 2 entries…)
13 Times! 3 years ago

I set aside…no I GRABBED, a few hours today and ran more than 13 miles. After every mile, I walked for 25 second. I repeated this 13x. I really enjoyed it. I was happy as I cruised along. Sure, my legs got sore by the time I completed 10 miles, but I really felt alive. :)

Garmin Forerunner

I have a Garmin 201 Forerunner watch. It’s a small GPS watch that works pretty darn good. I’ve used it successfully running down Wisconsin Ave and running along and on Lakeshore Drive, but it’s possible to experience dropouts in the city. I did the 10 mile Milwaukee Discovery Run last year and it worked great, but that doesn’t go right downtown.

Wishlist

It’s always good to have a wishlist! Seriously, there are many runners with these Garmins now. I’m sure someone wouldn’t mind chart out a few route with you so that you knew the mileage.

Typically

Running typically makes me feel better, but it’s hard to stay motivated in the winter. It’s why I keep lining up some race. It’s good to get around other people that are trying to stay fit.

Btw, 5 years ago I couldn’t have run even 1 mile.
