Summer 2006. Hopefully the trip will include visits to Vancouver & Seattle, maybe Portland. Fun!

Our trip may not happen this year—maybe summer 2007? maybe sometime after that?? I hope you AND we get to go someday!
Elderbear is subverting the dominant paradigm. kickn' back ...
... which is kinda funny – this is the first year this millenium that I haven’t been up. But that’s due to a job & career change. If my old company gets another contract to work up there, I can see taking a few weeks of “vacation” to go back up and consult. It’s been a decade since that company hired a consultant to go up to AK – and then they paid $500/day + expenses … I could stand a few weeks of grey, mosquito infested drizzle for that kind of cash! But I’m not holding my breath.

have you been to Arctic Village & thereabouts, by chance? The consulting paid impressively! I’ll be interested to hear whether you end up going again.
I’m still not sure when we’ll get to go. We have a big family get-together to attend in southern California in July 07. It would be cool to go north after that, but I don’t think $$ & time will permit.
My sister lived there for a couple years after she graduated college back in the mid-90s. My family went up there and visited her for the week. She hooked us up in a bunch of interesting bed and breakfast places. Key word being “interesting.” heh.
Alaska is definitely a strange, yet wonderful place. There’s a whole different air up there, especially if you go in the summer when the days are really long.
