Evolve discreetly into a 1950s domestic goddess (read all 4 entries…)

Worth doing!

Fabulous!  — 2 years ago

Spent (almost) the whole day doing spring-cleaning! I managed to fill an entire garbage bag with stuff to donate to Goodwill, and also managed to break down and recycle about a dozen boxes that were just taking up space. I’ve been doing much better on the cooking front as well. I made fried rice for dinner the other night (not a typical ‘50s domestic goddess meal, but whatever!) and for breakfast I made French toast.

While on a google quest for aprons, I stumbled upon this article with handy-dandy domestic goddess tips.

Comments:

Yum! I had french toast for breakfast, too.

What do you have on yours?

I'm a weirdo

When I make it at home, I eat it plain! I make it extra eggy and add vanilla and a dash of sugar to the batter. Tastes mighty fine without anything added on top!

Of course, I also like it with maple syrup or with strawberries and whipped cream.

Vanilla would be good. We have it with cinnamon and pepper.

And I have never eaten it with strawberries and whipped cream. It’s all about the peanut butter and syrup. Yum.

Amazingkae is feeling read, white, and blue (and incredibly patriotic, too)

Touch of Orange Juice in the French Toast Batter

Honest… makes no sense… add just a touch of OJ to the milk/egg/vanilla and if you sprinkle each side a bit with coconut (the battered partshould engulf it)... then butter pan fry… Yum yum! Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve topped with Mandarin oranges, sliced toasted almonds and fresh mint or edible flowers on the plate and you’ll be a bonafide grade A Stepford wife. The whole thing tastes even better when your husband makes it however—especially if he’s the one wearing the apron. ;-P
