I know I don’t want to take a class at IO, because I have heard such horrible things about the way it is run. I am thinking Second City, or something at Annoyance Theater…..
I am going to be gone for much of the summer, so this is a goal that really needs to wait for fall, but I would like to make a decision soon.

IO seems to encourage raunchy stuff, which if that doesn’t turn you off, would probably be okay. Excepting the extreme raunchy stuff at IO, I enjoyed both SS and IO.
Go to annoyance. There are a lot of beginning improvisors there, and they’re really focused on the performer.
It’s a great foundation, in my opinion.
Oh, and in regards to the raunchy, Annoyance encourages it even more than IO. However, Annoyance encourages you to come from a place of pure inspiration, where whatever falls out of your mouth is correct.
You’d be surprised how many times that ends up raunchy.
