Growing up in the midwest, there are always opportunities to feed farm animals. Actually, as I think about it, I am stunned that people could manage to go through childhood and NOT feed a farm animal.
My favorite type of farm animal to feed: goats.
tigerbrown loves my new swing!
We had 2 rescue goats until we sold our place in Carnation. Thankfully my neighbor took them in.
They were the sweetest boys I could have asked for. The only problem was that they would eat my senior horse’s mash and my entire garden and that got a bit frustrating.
We have some pictures of our dogs and the goats (Bosco and Willy) just lounging out in front of the house.
My fondest memory was of them showing up in the barn one morning after I had walked them over to my neighbor’s house. I was so touched that they wanted to come home. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.
If anyone has a goat – DON’T chain them up to a stump. Its mean. Give them a nice enclosure to roam freely in. Oh, and keep their feet trimmed.
