stop dyeing my hair
Must...resist...dye... 3 years ago

I’m trying to let my hair grow out, but these roots are really starting to bother me. I’m not dyeing my hair “back,” though, because that never works. Maybe I should just cut my hair short. Argh!

Hang In There

Hmm. Dying “back” worked for me, fortunately. My natural hair is brown (as you can see in the picture), and has been that way for most of my life. Sometime last year, however, I experienced temporary insanity and decided to dye it platinum blonde (yes, I know). After two or three months of trying to get used to the platinum horror, I broke down. A good hairstylist dyed the hair back for me and nobody could tell the difference.

But eveyrbody’s hair is different. I’m crossing my fingers for you to hang on in there :) There’s nothing like natural hair. The platinum incident taught me my lesson. I’m never ever going to dye my hair again. Not even when it’s grey, hopefully.

Thanks!

Well, you bring up an important point, which is that you had your hair dyed back by a professional. Maybe I should look into that… It’s expensive, though, isn’t it? I’ve only ever used dye from a box which is a bad idea.

A bit expensive

Should be around $50 for hair that’s not too long or too problematic. So a bit expensive, yeah. If you ever go for it, though, make sure they leave your natural roots intact, and only “dye back” the rest of the hair to match it.

Meghan has gotten 2 cheers on this entry.
