Think about having my vision corrected through surgery (read all 4 entries…)
Lasik or no lasik 3 years ago

I have been wearing glasses for forever. Started when my younger siblings started wearing them and I wanted to do the same and I lied to the Optician that I couldn’t see clearly.

I never remove my glasses except to shower and go to bed. I do not know how my eyes look like and I hate haircuts because I can never see what’s going on during the cut.

A few friends had gone thru Lasik surgery and I wonder if I should do it too. Then I heard that they’re testing this new procedure where they implant permanent lenses in your eyes (under your corneas), it’s reversible etc. Maybe I should wait this out. I’m actually very fond of my glasses, they’ve become a part of me.

Comments:

try sleepable contacts lense maybe

Note: in No way am i connected with this company but just tell about alternative to surgery. example of lense:

MMm, I know how it was when getting a haircut;
I think i solved that problem without surgery- for now anyway.
I am not happy with lasik so i bought myself some continuous wear contact lense (never take them out for about 3 months, replace after 3months..sometimes 5 months.)
I’ve never looked back (wink)

infection risk

My optician and my hubby advised me against this a few years ago when I was considering this option. Said that the risk of infection is high in some eyes and with my kind of luck, it may just fall on me. Besides, my astigmatism is too important for most contact lenses.

sadly not for everybody

Yes, Having some eye conditions is a major factor—contacts arn’t for everybody…

there is an infection risk with all contact lense types, for various reasons, as there is risks of side-effects from lasik.

Have good luck with your good choices :-)

regarding infection: That's why i check my eyes for any trouble and clean the lens whenever i feel uncomfortable.
