Made my goal last week. It felt great. I saw that I needed only 2000 more Neopoints and so I played “Pyramids” until I earned that much.

How did I earn a million Neopoints? Well, I played a lot of Pyramids and Cliffhanger. I also played Spell-or-Starve. However, I gained most of my NP by saving. I also sold any good items like faeries or codestones in my shop. I am a member of Premium Neopets and they send out 2000NP every month if you stay a member. Also I would earn various amounts with the Premium scratchcard that goes out on Fridays. I did not try to restock or do anything out of the ordinary. I did play the stock market, but I only had 1000 shares that I bought for 15,000NP, but sold for 20,000NP. Basically, I have no tricks of the trade. Just hard work and saving.

It took me a long time to earn a million NP because I don’t play a lot of games. I keep 1000NP out to play games and the rest stays in the bank. I’ve been on Neopets since 2002, and I’ve basically been saving ever since. I have bought paintbrushes for my pets, petpets, and petpetpets, so I haven’t always had incentive to save for this goal. I also made a few mistakes, like buying a Tapira (a petpet) for 100,000NP when I thought they were rare but weren’t. Sigh.

I didn’t give up on my goal, however. If I can do it, you can do it, too.
