My job involves a lot of sitting around and talking to people. Frequently this involves morning and afternoon tea. I too wish that I had a more physical job sometimes. I use the 10% rule during the week to get more exercise that is parking a little bit further away from where I could park so that I have to walk a little bit further. I also used to have a dog and I would take her for a walk every day. I will get another dog one day. I should perhaps add this to my list.

I also noticed that one of your goals was to stop procrastinating. Try sandwiching those things that you procrastinate about with things that you enjoy.

I also try to squeeze in bits of activity eg. walking instead of taking the lift to my office floor. Even getting up to talk to my colleagues at the other end of the office rather than just email them, if it’s a simple matter. Also get up to go the printer and photocopier for individual jobs rather than collect at one go.

Hmm, will try doing that to stop procrastinating. I also read some where that I can try to give myself small rewards when I get something done fast.

Another tip …
Try and only ever touch something once. for example, fold your washing straight off the line and put it away/iron it straight away, when you receive paperwork file it straight away rather than put it in a pile to be filed later on.
