Cook someone dinner
I express myself through cooking 3 years ago

I love to cook for people, whether it be friends or a romantic interest. It is one of the key ways I can express myself through a safe comforting channel. If I want to offer consolation, then I can make my M&M peppered fudge brownies. If I want to show off my sophisticated side (fledging as it is), I can make my citrus salmon with rosemary rice. If I want to offer a strong shoulder, I can make my simmered pot roast with plenty of tender vegetables and a steaming fresh apple pie for dessert.

I love to try new things and make them my own in the kitchen; I sometimes wish I were as bold in other areas of my life. Lesson to be learned!

Your strong shoulder dinner sounds tasty..and comforting.

Yummy

Can you post your recipes? That citrus salmon with rosemary rice sounds delightful!

I'm hungry

:-(

I will try but ...

... I often cook “by instinct” and not following a set recipe. I did post one recipe I engineered for slow cooker chicken soup that is so easy, I can even make this when I am sick myself (see this link: http://www.43things.com/entries/view/688137). If you’re wanting a specific recipe for something, let me know the food and I will see if I have made it and what I can suggest.

As far as the salmon, any type of citrus works well. I used to have a grapefruit tree in my Florida backyard, and used the fruit to flavor all kinds of fish (and chicken) dishes. The rosemary rice what I would do is use the fish stock (including rosemary and dill on the fish) in a yellow or wild rice mix for extra flavor.

Waste not, want not is my motto!
