When I moved into my apartment, the back yard was over grown with weeds. I convinced the owner to let me experiment with it. My Dad has a green thumb; He can grow anything. Our pear tree grew three types of pears after he grafted on two branches. I didn’t get any advice when I had the chance and looked forward to this experiment. Three years later, the weeds are gone and the lawn looks lush despite a few bare spots. This year I’m tackling tomatoes (grown upside down). Depending on my success with that, my next project is an herb garden.

Sounds like you're doing...
a brilliant job! I think a herb garden is a wonderful thing to have – as are tomatoes and chilies and strawberries and anything else you can really make use of. I’ve never been brave enough to try anything like grafting. Your dad sounds like a gifted man!
