RuthG raises a toast for a fruitful 2010!

Understand the mystery of cheers (read all 3 entries…)
Having read 3 years ago

about the disappearance of cheers given or received when users delete entries/comments, & being a mom whose instinct is to console the distressed-in this case, those distressed by an unexpected drop in their cheer count-& also being a poet, I propose:

That we view 43Things cheers as drops flowing together in a great river of kindness & encouragement that cannot really be quantified. The river ebbs a bit from time to time, but mostly it flows.

Let’s just float on it & enjoy it. :-)

Hey Ruth

(I couldn’t find another place to post this)

Don’t you ever sleep??? ;-) I’m up in the middle of the night because my son is coughing, and so I checked my cheers and sent a few out, and you sent one right back! I figured you were a bit of a night owl like me, since you’re often still up if I go to bed around 1 or 2 a.m., but 3 a.m.? Do you get to sleep late in the morning?

I've started to wonder the same...

thing myself. I’m sure she does, but when is a good question. :)

Yep

I became more of a night owl after getting married, because my husband is—& I don’t have to get up at a certain time since I work from home. I’m not usually up till 3:00, though! Last night it was because my body had demanded a nap earlier in the evening, & then I had extra energy & wanted to press as long as I could on a project that I’m trying to finish.

I did wonder why YOU were up so late, too! :-) Sorry your son wasn’t feeling well. That probably leaves you tired today.

How does one become a nightowl...

if it’s not naturally occurring? I have tried without a whole lot of success to become a morning person, and that statement just amazes me. Share your secret. :)

Well, actually

I’m not normally a morning person anyway. Years ago when I was freelancing full time (with a similarly open schedule) & my kids were gone for six weeks one summer to be with their dad & grandparents, I experimented a bit & found that my body was really happy with going to bed at midnight & getting up at 8:00 a.m. Then, as long as I didn’t have an evening commitment, I would putter around in the morning, start working at noon & continue with just a couple of short breaks till 8:00 p.m.

I would like to establish a schedule like that again, but now my body is used to going to bed later (usually around 1:00 or 2:00). If I have a morning appointment, I try to make sure it’s not before 9:00, & even that is a challenge!

Good luck...

You can do it, though, I have faith in you! :D
