I created a list on List of Bests with my favorite neighborhoods.
It will be a pain for the Robots, though, because the next step would be reorganizing all the existing entries following the right taxonomy… (err… hi Josh) :)
Comments:
I prefer 43places for *places*
while I think tha a lot of things I first added to 43THINGS (like Nanni Moretti’s movies) would be best for listofbest….
I find places to be more interesting as places, organized hyerarchically the way they are….
OK, but
creating an entry in List Of Bests automatically creates the corresponding one in 43Pl, 43T or 43Pe…
Infact now you can find the newly created neighborhoods in 43Places.
it does show up "somehow" but...
...I still have to completely understand the integration model behind it…
Let me summarize what I’ve gotten of it:
for example if you go to “Rome” (or anything/where else for this purpose):
http://www.43places.com/places/view/104340
it is integrated, in the “this place is on these lists:” links at the bottom of the page.
Practically you can have lists of PLACES…. places that are in 43places. That is nice. like http://www.listsofbests.com/list/2004
But still, the places are in 43places.
Which is ok.
In fact, I think the idea of 43places to share info, photos, comments, suggestions on trips is GREAT on its own.
43things is probably too generic, as it has to do with ANYTHING you could possibly want to do (in the short or long term). So I find that some of the things that before you would have added to 43things like “watch someone’s movies” or “buy all sort of guitars” or… THAT kind of thing IS suitable for a list.
one thing Josh and the Robots should add in this regard
...is updating the older sites to include links to the new ones.
Espercially in the personal pages
(doing X things, going to X places, etc).
Switching to Italian...

Thanks Paola
I’m giddy that we have a real live Roman sharing knowledge on 43 Places. I’d be happy to reorganize the locations – but I’ll need your help. I’ll poke around and see what (if any) improvements I can make, but we have a new way to “report a problem” that would let a knowledgeable local tell us where a place ought to be.
Thanks again for the help. In addition, it is stirring my wanderlust for the eternal city!
More than willing to give my help
And curious to see this way of reporting problems!
I see you added all the rioni through LOB. We can add the quartieri too, and then start the reorganization from there.
I am trying to "report a problem"...
I am trying to “report a problem” in some places so that they can be placed under a certain area/quartiere….
but it seems some javascript on the page does not work as it should be doing (probably is my browser doing funny… but take a look at it just to be sure…):
for example i would like to place
