What Arabian doesn’t know how to speak their own language? I’ll tell you who. Me! It’s embaressing having my cousins look at me in disbelief when I barely understand them. This goal isn’t only something I want it’s a need. Yeah I sound corny I know but I’m stating my truth.

Good luck

I’m a 1/4 Egyptian and I’ve felt a similar problem. since most of my grandmother’s family lives in London where I am from. I did not take at all seriously when I was a little kid and did not learn it for real until I went to university. Now it feels so much better to be able to connect with that side of the family.

I have a CD that’s helping me learning the alphabet first and then words. It’s hard, I hope it gets easier later but I won’t back down! Good job on learning, I hope I can connect to my family like you did to yours!
