be impeccable (read all 3 entries…)
Especially: Be impeccable with my word

I read something about this in The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz… but it has taken on a life of its own in my head. What I mean is never to be anything less than truthful and authentic. To speak with integrity, honoring the people I am speaking with and myself. But also to see my words as powerful and avoid affirming negative outcomes (like I did yesterday: I said, “my room just keeps getting messier and messier!” Eek!). It follows that I would never give voice to judgement or criticism of other people or myself. Or speak of myself as a victim of circumstances beyond my control.

Maybe I should learn more about Neuro-Linguistic Programming; isn’t this what that’s all about?

Comments:

And once I see my words as powerful...

Will I use my power for good or for evil?!?

Just kidding, of course I will use it for good—but how? The possibilities are mind-boggling. Like following through with my “Join Toastmasters” goal so I can learn to use the power of my words to connect with, inform and even persuade others, in large groups instead of one at a time!

good luck with this!

I’d add it if I had room on my list. I read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz too, but a while ago. I’m thinking I should read it again, maybe journal with it.

My qi gong master and other teachers have mentioned the power of words, how you’re manifesting energy any time you speak, and oso should be conscious of it being good energy, since like attracts like.

BTW, You already seem very persuasive to me. ;-)
