Whine, whine, whine.

SICP exercises are hard! I think they’re a little too hard. Or maybe it’s that they don’t give you enough practice and then they hit you over the head with a really tough one. And then there’s exercise 1.14, the purpose of which seems to be to make the reader get a repetitive stress injury. I was trying to think of a way to write a program to print out the exercise answer for me but I don’t know enough Scheme to do that yet.

Maybe I should just admit that SICP has the better of me and I’m just stupid. But I’m not stupid! I have a Bachelor’s degree. OK, I have a Bachelor of Arts degree but still…

One thing I notice, the problem sets and quizzes that MIT gives its own students are a lot easier than the exercises in the SICP book. That indicates something. Maybe the SICP book exercises are too hard.

But I’m not giving up. I’m gonna keep banging my head against the wall until Scheme comes out.
