On our honeymoon (in August of 2004) my wife and I stumbled onto a library having a book sale. I picked up a $1 copy of the “Baghavad Gita: As it is”, with each verse in Sanskrit, transcribed for pronunciation, and translated into English. A few months ago I picked up a copy of “Teach Yourself Sanskrit” and I’ve been slowly going through both books together. Over Christmas I talked to an old friend of mine (originally from New Delhi, but living in the US for 20 years now) about Sanskrit and he gave me some pointers and let me know that I had a long, but rewarding, path ahead of me.
