With gas prices going sky high, travelling in PA may be the farthest I go for awhile….But, there is so much to see…

Creepy girl? Bad citizen.
Uh-oh. In rereading the comment I posted yesterday, I realize that my wording was a little bit… creepy. The “we” I was making reference to was the collective, welcome-wagon consciousness of the friendly people of Westmoreland County, not my family. Whoops! I don’t know if you took it that way, but be assured I am not creepy. : )
I’m ashamed to admit that, though I’ve lived in Pennsylvania for eleven years, I’ve only visited the counties immediately surrounding my own, and a few others incidentally on my way to visit my aunt in Lehigh County. So close to Bucks, yet so far away!
I really, really like this goal. So much, in fact, that I’m thinking about adopting it when I learn to drive. I’ll leave for college in little over a year. When my classmates ask me where I’m from, it would be nice to be able to say Pennsylvania, not Pittsburgh, because I made an effort to be a citizen of the entire state, not simply one city.
Again, major kudos on this goal! I don’t know about your side of the state, but it looks like it’s going to be rainy here today. I hope your weather stays nice and you’re able to get outside and relax. Have a good afternoon!

not creepy at all
I didn’t feel it was creepy – I am, however, very careful about online contacts. I “met” a man through eharmony two years ago and while we talk by email, phone and mail we haven’t met yet. But it was a long time before he got my name, address and phone number, and not until I knew enough about him to verify he wasn’t an axe murderer. He’s actually very nice!
Don’t worry, I won’t be driving around Westmoreland County looking for ohbyjingo! : )
I am a lot older than you, I assume, as I am 51, but I am finishing a doctoral degree – two more years to go. Finances are tight tight tight, so travel would be nice, but….
My sister, who is from Bucks County (and Philly, originally, like me) is a huge Steelers fan. She was unbearable this past year. She just (two weeks back) moved to Virginia. I gave her a DVD of the Steelers victory year, and unknown to me, our other sister found and gave her a Steelers Sweatshirt. The rest of us are normal and are Eagles and Phillies fans. Which explains a family history of depression!
I drove through some counties I didn’t list because I don’t remember the drive….But I have driven across the state and out into Ohio, and also to Indiana University, Indiana PA. Never been to Pittsburgh but everyone tells me it is a great city to visit. A friend of mine went to, I believe it was, Carnegie Mellon U.(?)
We are having lots of rain, thunder too, so I shan’t be online much longer.
