Again, I don’t really know why I want this but I love the 50’s and taking care of people. Everyone says I’ll make a good wife someday, so why not? I want to cook and clean for my family and have dinner ready for when my husband comes home. My friend says I’m single handily bringing down the women’s movement lol but it’s different. I don’t think that’s a woman’s place in this world, it’s just what I want to do for my family. I’m really traditional.
Comments:
The whole point of the women’s movement (to me at least) was to give women more choices and put them on equal footing with men. If you choose to be a housewife, it’s just as wrong to criticize that choice as if you chose something more male-dominated. If that’s what makes you happy, go for it! I might try the 50’s housewife thing myself one day.
Amen!
I’ve always found it very frustrating that so few people see choosing to be a housewife as a real goal. You can be chef, a child-care provider, interior decorator, etc and those are “real”, but housewife…rant over
It’s pretty much always been my goal. Always nice to know I’m not the only one.

I’m so glad I’m not alone in this! I’m sick of feminazis wanting to put my head on a spike because I’d rather be taking care of hearth and home than slaving in a cubicle from 9 to 5.
This is such a valuable comment…
I’ve seen and experienced first hand how financial dependence on a partner or even a parent can become a trap…
We should all be able to make our own choices and have personal resources to make them possible… it is very much so a necessity. I admire your insight & initiative in your situation.
