get over my Asperger's
Take the AQ Test 3 years ago

I got 39, curious what others get. Take the AQ Test
I really have trouble with social situations, always have, and it just feels like no-one believes me! I’m sure others have been there?

I got 35...

I had no idea about this until very very recently, but only after I read Nobody Nowhere and identified somewhat with it. I also identify with many of the traits described as Asperger’s, but I’m not sure I fit “the profile” – I actually do well in social situations – it just saps the life out of me entirely, and I can’t say I like it at all. I also find a need to be in control, usually by leading a group if I have to be in the group. Otherwise I overload or feel I’m going to get overly animated. Any other sources for info? I have to say, having just entered the special education field, I’ll probably diagnose myself with everything I learn about before I’m through, but there may be something here with a score of 35. ?

KaliTime Camaralzman is drooling over Vladimir Kozlov. Hey, at least I'm honest...

I'm the perennial 41 and above

I can never get below 41 on any variant of that test. I talked with some people and they told me ‘not to label myself’ when I asked what they thought. I gave one the link for the Autism Research Centre to peruse. In the meantime, I’m looking for someone to actually give me the evaluation.

I’ve also been there with the social situations. Have you ever had people try to ‘drop’ you into social situations because they just ‘feel’ that you’re going to get the hang of it if you’re exposed?

I know of this group on LJ if you’re interested. I’ve pretty much been an occasional lurker but it seems like a pretty cool community from what I’ve read.

37!

It wasn’t a very well designed quiz, and self-diagnosis from an Internet poll isn’t a good idea to begin with.

I think the questions need to be more “subtle” so it’s not easy to tell what they’re testing for…

23

Wonder what that means?

Does it even mean I have AS? I’m simply curious, because I was diagnosed at about roughly the age of four (I think).

I’m also not the greatest in social situations, and I’ve got a bit of a speech impediment.

But seriously jeeze, a 23… what more can I say?

Jozzle has gotten 3 cheers on this entry.
