Robin Williams (no not that one) wrote a book entitled the Non-designers design book it’s a great starting point. If that’s too basic, look for Robin’s other books on design and typography. And remember, eagles may soar but weasels don’t get sucked into jet engines.
That book seemed to be near the top of the heap according to amazon customer reviews, so I ordered it last week and it arrived in the mail this morning. The mailman was probably carrying the package to my door as the packets of your suggestion were being carried across the wires. Can’t wait to check it out this weekend.
